What to Drive on Your road test

A sedan is always preferred, but go with whatever you have available, even if it is a one hundred thousand dollar passenger vehicle. It is not what you drive that matters, but rather your attitude or behavior. Be courteous and say hello when the inspector enters the car. Remember that the inspector is a professional, but during the test, cooperation, communication and understanding are critical skills also. It is usually only lack of experience or poor driving skills in accordance with the law that causes failure.

(2) Avoid taking your SUV if you have one. It is enough to say that these drivers have a greater failure rate.

(3) Understand the layout of the road test area. (do not practice there) Here is everything you should know.

How large is (are) the road(s)? How many lanes are there? How close are the blocks to each other for lane change and turns? Are there any lights? Not all sites have lights, but all have stop signs and sometimes one-way streets.
Practice right turns, lane change left and left turns in only one block or two. Perfect this before going to any road test. It may not be necessary but it sharpens your skills and makes you better prepared. Knowing this information before taking the test is extremely useful for the anxious novice driver. (4) Be sure that your inspection and vehicle registration are valid on the test vehicle.

(5) The licensed driver must have a valid license that is not expired, revoked or suspended for the test vehicle.

(6) If you permit indicates a restriction for corrective lenses, be sure to have your glasses or contacts.

(7) Be sure to have all the necessary identifications ready the day before the test. Ex. MV-285 and MV-262.

(8) There can be more than one examiner in the test vehicle, but only the student driver is permitted in the vehicle during the road test.
