Also, be sure you do not cut off other drivers on the return, and keep off the yellow lines! You will finish the road test inside the parking lot across from the start line, as seen here.
If you find yourself looking for the easiest test site, then the need to do so is your first indicator that you may need more practice in order to pass the DMV road test and be ready to drive safely. Ask yourself why you need to search for the easiest test site?
The reality is that it should not matter where you take the DMV road test, because all roads utilize traffic sign, white lines, yellow lines, other vehicles, and curbs.
These two road test sites basically share the same park area, and are only about one mile apart. It is important to realize that the same DMV personnel will test interchangeably in both sites. The most important difference is that Fresh Meadows roads are a bit wider and flat.
It is best to remember that Garden City Park is a Nassau County road test site. New drivers from the city don't normally have issues with right turn on red, compared to Nassau County drivers. Also, Garden City Park roads are a bit smaller.
Just like Hicksville, the roads here are mostly flat and wide, with good visibility. In Hicksville you may have to negotiate route 107 - a multilane road before making a left turn onto a side tree. But just like Hicksville and most other test sites, you will start and finish next to a park.
I have seen people make a dash inside the tree line many times. You don't have to. Leave your vehicle on the line (someone should remain with it) Walk across the parking lot towards the tunnel under the highway. To the right of the ball field is a public restroom. It's about a ten minute walk.
